Bhootnath, the film that has Amitabh Bachchan playing a ghost, also has Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla in key roles. For the first schedule of the film, the location was Goa.
Vivek Sharma, the director of Bhootnath, has always been a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan and assisted him in almost all his films.
When we met up with Vivek last, he shared with us some interesting anecdotes of Shah Rukh. And one of them goes like this:
"Shah Rukh was shooting for Kundan Shah's Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa . And due to some permission/payment problems, a group of locals came with sticks to chase the unit out of the sets. While Kundan Shah and most of the crew members got beaten up, Shah Rukh escaped unhurt.
The shrewd actor who wasn't as well-known then as he is now, smartly mixed with the crowd and pretended to be one of them. He gradually made his way out and then into the hotel where they were put up! Shah Rukh till today is a little wary of returning to that small gaon.
So one could imagine Badshah Khan returning to the same location for a shooting schedule and not feeling “cool” about it... but all’s well that ends well and SRK must have been glad to put it all behind him.
