Shah Rukh & Rajnikant to Lock Horns

Shahrukh Khan and Rajnikant will lock horns for the first time, though not at the box office.

Soundarya Rajnikant, whose Ochre Studio is making the approximately Rs 65-crore animation movie, Sultan, starring Rajnikant, and SRK’s Red Chillies VFX will each feature their work at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show in Las Vegas, US on April 15.

The session is called: Globalizing Bollywood: Indian Animation and VFX Films Eye the Global Stage. The session, wherein the companies will showcase their work and talk about it, will also feature other Indian VFX companies.

One of the largest trade associations in the US, the NAB hosts the world’s largest convention for the media and entertainment industry, where over 1,10,000 professionals from 163 countries have an opportunity to showcase their content for those who buy, deliver and distribute it worldwide.

The show generates $50-60 billion (Rs 2,00,000 crore-2,40,000 crore) worth of business annually and has been around for the past 80 years. In fact, over the years, an increasing number of Indian entertainment companies have attended the show. This year, over 400 people are expected to attend.

The Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), with strong support from NAB, has also played a crucial role in this year’s edition, in presenting the first ever Indian Super Session at the trade show. With the Indian media and entertainment companies venturing onto the global stage, the session is aptly titled Tune-in to India's Entertainment Economy.
