Shah Rukh Khan: Never had too much adversity; always seen the positive in life so can't really comment. But yes, failure does not mean what you did was wrong. It just means you need to stand up, dust yourself and do it better.

Shah Rukh Khan: Thanks. In April 2002.

Shah Rukh Khan: Yeah, why not? Actually I'd like to meet all my teachers.

Mary: How was it like to work with Kareena in the movie Asoka? Who do you prefer more to work with Karishma or Kareena?
Shah Rukh Khan: Normally I like to make my choices as to the director that I work with not the heroines. To me whoever has been chosen is good. Though both Kareena and Karishma are very nice and close to me. So far I have done one and half film with them.

Zhanara: Are you satisfied with your work on Asoka and its success abroad? And what is your biggest wish in the world?
Shah Rukh Khan: Yes, and wish to keep on entertaining.

Tany: I'm the biggest fan of yours. I love you so much. I wrote you so many letters but you didn't reply. Everybody said because you are a celebrity so you will never send me anything but I know you will send me something someday. Right?

Mandy Jouhal: What do you hope to do for the future? How is Aryan and Gauri and yourself, I mean not just as an actor but the man behind the actor? Are you going to make more films in the future and with which actress? I would say you make a good team with Juhi Kajol and Madhuri Dixit?
Shah Rukh Khan: Mandy the family is well and so is the man behind them. Next film is Devdas and the future is looked at with hope.

In Singapore, the Chinese, Malays and Indians watched Asoka and news report had it that all of them found it a great movie. I can't wait to watch your upcoming movies. Lamya: I've read somewhere that after 2004, you'll turn towards politics, are you actually inclined towards politics at all? And do you plan to stop acting? Though you've come so many times to Mauritius for shooting, you never came to Reunion Island. It's a really beautiful island.
Shah Rukh Khan: No I hate politics. Never. I hope I can find enough exciting roles and continue to work. I will next time tell producers to shoot on your island. Love and thanks.

Sahishnu: Have you noticed that many of the actors in the film Asoka had the distinct vaccination mark visible on their arms. Something that was unknown in circa 270 BC! What would you attribute this oversight to?
Shah Rukh Khan: Sahishnu look at the film closely again. Those are actually tattoo marks done to cover the vaccination marks. We thought of that before you did.

Kiran: Did you get angry when people grade Askoa a bore movie?
Shah Rukh Khan: No, I do not get angry.

Gulzar: Are you going to visit NASA in Houston anytime soon? Are you coming for a stage show in the US?

Shah Rukh Khan: I live underground. And there is no truth that the Indian film industry will be taken over by the underworld. These guys believe in organized crime. In the industry nothing is organised. They won't touch it

Nurul Huda: How old is your wife?
Shah Rukh Khan: Very very young. Sometimes the cops want to take me away for child marriage.

Andjani: I'm an Indonesian, would like to know do you have a plan to promote your movies in Indonesia? Since you are very busy how do you balance between your spiritual life as a Muslim and your work? Your Asoka is good.
Shah Rukh Khan: Thanks for liking Asoka. I work hard, get back home to my family, pray before I sleep and when I get up think of good things. Don't wish anyone bad. No envy, no drinking, no negative thoughts. God has given so much I just about manage to thank him for every moment of life.

Noha Salem: I'm your fan from Egypt and being your fan in Egypt is very difficult. Your movies are not shown here in cinemas and it's very difficult getting anything for you why don't you think of making an international official Shah Rukh Khan fan club like all super stars.
Shah Rukh Khan: I was in Egypt to shoot k3g and found your country beautiful. Sure everyone tells you that. The fan club is a nice idea. Please do it for me and I will endorse it.

Sandi Mann: We never read about you saying an unkind word about anybody and it's one of the things your fans especially love you for. What do you think of certain others in your profession who are not so considerate?
Shah Rukh Khan: I have been given so much kindness I can't think of being unkind to anyone. I pray for all to get as much kindness and then perhaps they will be the same.

Shah Rukh Khan: yes the idea of dreams was to make different films. if people pay us and buy our films then we will make more...if they don't then i guess we won't.

teena: There's an uproar in Orissa, erstwhile Kalinga -- do you accept that there has been a complete character assasination of Kaurwaki and to some extent of Asoka?

Shah Rukh Khan: no i do't think so. it was a fictionalised account of asoka's life...made very clear. also nobody knows what really transpired between asoka and kaurwaki. all there are, are myths. it's like believing that the three lines on the squirrel are there becos rama caressed them while they helped him build the bridge to lanka...if i was to show that in a film it's only for cinematic purposesnot really becos it happened. now if there is a character assasination of the squirrel becos of that...then so be it.

Ruma: Shahrukh -- Asoka is/ was a brave attempt...full marks for trying...but I felt that the way you guys protrayed, asoka's killing spree was attributed to his not getting Kaurwaki..comment.

Shah Rukh Khan: it's a fictionalised account. the love story is unreal and yes maybe to some it seemed like what u say. while making the film we thought his reasons for violence were personal. taking that liberty, maybe our portrayal did seem like what u say...also like u say it was a brave attempt...the hope was luck would favour us...perhaps next time we'll just try and be lucky not as brave. thanx though.

Cyril Gupta: Shahrukh. Why don't you use digital film making for making films like Asoka, the production cost will be low, and editing/special effects will be cheaper and quicker. You could make a lot of films in the budget of a single flick.

Shah Rukh Khan: cyril the process of riverting bac onto film after shooting and processing is more expensive than a regular film as yet. theaters need to be made which would allow airway transmission of the film etc... a very long process till it comes to india...maybe another 20yrs.oooooh very looooong way to go man

pratyush: Is there any other mytholigical hero you would like to play that role.

Shah Rukh Khan: no there is no historical character i feelike playing. i do not like historicals...i guess like the rest of india. after making asoka...the only change i feel isin my bank balance...it is non existent.

Shah Rukh Khan: yes depe...u r einstien. it was based on myths legends and folk lore. please poit it out to the people who r crying ou aloud that e have tainted history.
